Pontoon Rules
Pontoon is a very popular blackjack varaition poker game in online casinos and land-based
online casinos. Pontoon is very similar to classic blackjack, but with some different rules.
"Pontoon" is when the first two cards are an Ace and a picture card.
Advantages of Pontoon:
Player can double bet at any stage of drawing cards
Instant win when player hits Pontoon or 21, even when dealer is holding an Ace
Difference of Pontoon from classic blackjack game:
- Each deck of cards use in Pontoon consist of 48 cards, no "jokers" and no "10s".
- Player get paid immediately of 2 to 3 when hits "Pontoon"
- Player get paid immediately on 21
- Player can double bets at any stage of drawing cards.
- Dealer must draw on soft 17
- Player can surrender half of initial bet only when the dealer's first card is an Ace or a Picture card. If dealer hit Pontoon, the surrender bet will be considered void.
- Player can double bets on any initial 2 cards. If the initial 2 cards consist of an Ace, the Ace will be count as 1, not 11
- Plus, Pontoon has its very own payout table on special player winning hands
